Transport Our expert service provides service-users and staff with safe and secure transportation to and from any location in the United Kingdom and overseas. Where required, service-users can be accompanied by our specially trained escorts and all VKL drivers receive training in mental health awareness, physical intervention, moving and handling, basic first aid and CPR.

Where more volatile service-users are being transported, we can provide secure vehicles to maximise the security of the service-user and accompanying escort staff. Additional escort nurses will always be made available upon request.

Staffing
We supply highly trained and professional nursing escorts who promote the safety and well-being of the patient and who recognise the policies and procedures of appropriately ‘handing over’ patients during hospital transfers.

The additional benefit of using our escorts is that it leaves your own staff free to carry out their main roles without interruption and enables you to maintain adequate staffing levels on your ward.

Cost
We recognise the need for an affordable service. Our prices are highly competitive, although we will never compromise on our professionalism.

We work closely with our clients to risk-assess Service-users who pose certain threats. All our escort nurses have attended Physical Intervention training and are accomplished in specific holding techniques for transporting and while in seated positions.

Therapeutic communication is always the key when dealing with a potentially aggressive service user, and our staff are trained to recognise the need for an appropriate response. Our secure vehicles have the relevant security to prevent a service-user exiting our vehicles where necessary.


We recognise that safety is paramount and understand that sometimes it is necessary to sedate some service-users prior to transportation. We accommodate this precautionary measure by providing comfortable and spacious seating while escorts closely monitor the service-user's condition.

We understand that agitation in many service-users can be greatly reduced by cutting down on the amount of time waiting for transport to arrive.

We endeavour to meet the needs of our clients and the service-user by increasing the amount of vehicles and staff on stand-by for a quick response.

We always possess up-to-date traffic information to enable us to properly advise our clients on the best pick-up times where appointments have been made, to ensure service-users arrive in good time, but not too early!
